What Is The Function Of Gallbladder?

The Gallbladder functions to store bile, which is a secretion produced by the liver. This secretion moves from the liver to the Gallbladder; via the common hepatic duct.

Bile has following functions:

• Digestion of lipids
• Vitamin A, D, K, and E absorption
• Removal of bilirubin from the body

2. Gallbladder complications & What Can Lead To Gallbladder Removal:

The gallbladder can develop multiple abnormalities.

• Cholelithiasis-Gallstones:  This is one of the most common reasons for the removal of the Gallbladder. Gallstones also known as cholelithiasis, is the process that occurs when stones develop in  the Gallbladder. This can lead to a number of different complications.
